Ianna: dad, can you tell me something about lolo johnny?
Elmer: why?
Ianna: just tell me stories about lolo johnny...
Ianna actually knows that I love to talk to her about her lolos, lolas, titos/titas and cousins. It is one way for me to help her remember people close to us...
As I was telling her small incidents, Ianna will always have a comment, here are some of it:
- "that's why you miss lolo johnny"
- "are you sad because lolo johnny is in heaven?"
- "I know why lolo johnny carried me, because he loves me."
- after I said that lolo johnny carried her because he likes to do it eventhough it is difficult for him... ianna quickly replied, "he can just kiss me"
- I told ianna that when I was young, lolo johnny would carry me in his back just like how she loves to ride at my back, another reply from her, with big eyes - "he can carry you?!" (I had to remind her that it was when I was a lot younger!)
I love our small discussions from time to time. she asks the simplest questions and she remembers our conversations. I can picture her a bit older and with Joanna having some merienda (or what they call afternoon tea) in a small cafe and still asking us questions and for stories (or I can quiz her on what she remembers, hehehe).
